Funerals

Secular or humanist funerals bring people together in a way that can be true to someone's memory. They also give friends and family the opportunity to celebrate a life and to mark its ending.

I can provide as much guidance as you need in the creation of a personal and fitting tribute.  I will ensure that if you wish your memories, stories and choices of music or poetry, will be used to create a unique commemoration.

Together we can create a ceremony where we can celebrate, appreciate, and that encompasses both sadness and joy.

A good funeral, which is inclusive rather than exclusive, can bring people together and help mark both an ending and a new beginning.

"I just wanted to express my great thanks for the deeply sensitive way in which you conducted our celebration...It was a great pleasure working with you - it felt like a genuine creative dialogue in which your experience and reassurance helped us and me, in particular, to feel that we had created something that I shall always carry with me and that strengthened and reaffirmed all my positive memories of Mum"  John

Wide range

In the past I have created funerals for many different sorts of people. Some had no religious beliefs, some were lapsed Catholics, Jews, or Buddhists.

I have dealt with all types of death, from stillborn children to people into their nineties, from peaceful natural deaths to suicides or those who have accidentally taken their own life.

Ceremonies can be anything from simple intimate affairs for a few people, to much larger gathering for family and friends.
